Evinalmighty1's blogTown of Middleburg?
I saw in the Clay Today where they were asking people if Middleburg should incorporate. Is this something that is being considered by our friends in Middleburg?. Just wondering, I myself think that would be a smart idea for the citizens who live there. Nothing like "Middleburgians" having the say in what happens in Middleburgia. Related: 18 comments
Kudos to Kelter
Kudos to Mayor Kelter. As far as I know he is the only politician from this county that has the guts to get on here and address the citizens’ questions and concerns head on. I don’t think people bash on you Mayor. I think it is just that you’re the only person on the city council that is willing to get on this site. Don’t know if your colleges are less courageous than you or just smarter…Ha-Ha. Related: 8 comments | Tags: green cove springs
Police come last
I think the Green Cove city counsel is doing a good job and am not going to get on the "Bash Keltor" bandwagon but I just read in the paper that the city is looking for bonds to complete some electric and water projects. The city is also going to get a bond for The new gym, on Lemon Street. That all fine but I remember reading where Keltor couldn't figure out where to get the money for the new city police station to be built with (this century). I have a bright idea, maybe the city can get a bond for the new Police station. Oh wait, I forgot, the Police always come last. Related: 22 comments
Green Cove Teen Summit
Congratulations to the Green Cove Springs Police Department for putting together their second Teen Summit, at the Jr High School. I hope the kids who attended learned good life lessons. We appreciate that fact that the police department is keeping our kids in mind. Related: login or register to post comments | Tags: community | Community News for Green Cove Springs | police
New City in Clay County?
A few months ago I read that the Oak Leaf area of the County was considering incorporation. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of, or is involved in, anything concerning that. I think incorporation is a great idea for that area and hope to see it become reality. Thriving counties, such as down south, have many city / towns and it has proven to be more efficient. City / towns can manage them selfs better than county governments, with a more personal touch in services. Honestly, I always thought Fleming Island would be the first area to incorporate. |
