Rylon's blog

We removed the blog by RLyons because we felt that the blog by user RLyons was a personal attack.

As we have mentioned in the past, we can not allow personal attacks on MyClaySun.com.

I've seen worse on here, or let me rephrase to say that I have read other blogs that in my opinion were far more of a personal attack.  But it's the first time I've ever seen something pulled.

Perhaps you can expand on the situation a little and write a blog giving us some guidelines on what constitutes a "personal attack" or perhaps just a permanent link somewhere stating what the rules are, and what is apt to get your blogged pulled.

It is unfortunate that we need it.

Lamar,

I agree with Marsha. I once repeated something I heard from a friend and was called out for lodging a personal attack - which was the farthest thing from my mind. I found the story funny and offered it on that basis. It obviously wasn't funny to anyone but me.

Without naming names, Mr. Lyons simply asked anyone using CTLAC as a communications vehicle (members of Florida Hometown Democracy) to stop the personal attacks against anyone who opposed the proposed amendment.

Perhaps a more formal "Blogging Etiquette" can be put together so bloggers can refer to it if they question the nature of what they're thinking about posting.

Something like: Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about issues, Great minds talk about theories.

I don't envy you having to make that call. It is a fine line between fredom of speech and abuse of the system. I would hope when people enter the public arena be they politicians or activist that they would understand not every body is going to agree. I do think this spot should be about issues and ideas more than people, but it can at times be difficult to separate the two.
