IN CASE YOU DID NOT KNOW...
As a police officer, one of my duties is to inform and protect the children in my community. I have been giving presentations for the kids at school since 2003, and I can see how their safety guard has changed from a naive attitude to an awareness against predators. I believe that everything we can teach them is worth, especially if these teachings might save their lives one day. About a week ago I came across Ms. Pamela Bennett who is the Victim Advocate , Section Chief for the Child Predator CyberCrime Unit in Jacksonville. She works for the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Florida and I knew through her that an enormous effort is taking place at this time to catch these criminals and remove them from the streets so our children can live without fear. Ms. Bennett and I coordinate a presentation for the grades 6-7-and 8Th and yesterday, her and Ms. Gwen Rhodes gave these kids a valuable source of information, about the predators on the Internet. The great thing about all this is that Ms. Bennett informed me that the Attorney General, Bill McCollum is so determined to end up with these criminals that he has authorized his team to give at least 2 presentations a month to schools and other institutions involving kid's education. As a parent you are entitled to request these presentations to your children's school or just write to www.myfloridalegal.com for more information. If we all join efforts together to fight these criminals maybe we can build a better world for our kids and stop this abominable child abduction rage that seems to have taken over our beloved country.
