Pay it forward
Here's a cool feel good story that Angie Whiddon, one of my favorite people, told me.Whiddon, principal at W.E. Cherry Elementary School, and her staff are known for their huge heartedness, generosity and compassion. They raise funds selling dill pickles and use pickle money for good deeds. They provide furniture, clothing, food for their students in need. They bought a car for a long-time grandmother volunteer whose old bomb of a car smoked in to the school parking lot everyday. .A few years ago, the staff took lunch to Lake Butler Elementary following a bad car accident that killed some students. Recently, they took lunch to Westside Elementary in Baker County where the principal died in a car accident. When they arrived at Westside, the interim principal told them that Lake Butler Elementary had already brought in lunch for the staff. Lake Butler officials said they did it because a school brought them lunch following a tragedy and they wanted to pay it forward.I got goosebumps from that story so I had to pass it on. Mary....yes, a heartwarming, goose pimpley story and how wonderful it is to hear about it. There are GOOD people in this world if we will just open our eyes and look....and how fantastic that the children are being exposed to doing 'good deeds' for others. Angie Whiddon and her staff are 'angels' and if more people would only follow their lead just think of what could be accomplished. Thank you Mary, please bring us more!! The joy of any season, at any time, for any reason is GIVING!
And a special THANK YOU to Angie and her staff at W.E. Cherry.
