Clay Elections - specific blog for each seat???Serious blog here folks. Since we will have so many Clay elections coming up (Superintendent, Sheriff, BCC), how about lets start a 'serious' blog for each major seat. Nothing inflammatory, nothing accuasational, etc... which I know is ideal and probably not entirely realistic. However, it would be good to read some insight on some of the candidates - maybe invite them to put in their own comment on the blog (would they????) Anyways - a thought, and those of you more in the know of Clay county politics would have a better feel whether we could pull this off or not. Example blog titles would be titled (very simply) "Clay Sheriff" "School Board Superintendent" Now, Johnathon, it there was a way to keep the original title on each blog reply, that would be great but would probably require some TU programmers so not likely. Just a thought - and it might be too early to start now except for the Clay Sheriff blog? Thoughts?

CCC, I'm with Marsha. I think it's a great idea. I also think it would be great to have candidates connected to the blog.. Way to go big guy! JATFUR. RichK

What a good idea! Segregating the individual races would make it much easier for anyone interested to locate their particular interests. There's nothing wrong with trying to force a few ideals into life's realism, CCC. There are damnably few ideals being practiced in government, having been replaced by the dollar, but that shouldn't stop us from using them here. As I've always been, I'll support any means of getting real, open, honest debate among or about candidates. Obviously, that's important to me on a personal level. Even more important is the special opportunity Clay County voters have this year, because of the large number of local races and Hometown Democracy Amendment, to decide if they like the direction their government is taking them or demand changes. Great idea CCC .... sure would make it a lot easier (hope it will) to keep subject blogs together. I really want as much info as I can possibly acquire about all the candidates running for office. This could be the year that the citizens begin electing individuals who will represent the people and not 'deep pockets' ... well, I can dream can't I? CCC,
Great idea! I don't know if it's something that can be or needs to be configured to the site but I think making the effort to keep one long blog going about the individual elective office is a good one. Of course you will have people who don't pay attention and blog about what they want where they want. It's a way to try and keep all comments regarding a particular public office in the same place, provides a better informational tool for the reader.
What do you say Jonathan, does the Election year warrant it's own section by Office?
