Scotty,

I gather that you don't like my vocal opposition to spending $205,000 on 3/4-acres of vacant land that was appraised at $105,000.

I don't much like spending taxpayers money to purchase (at 195% of appraised value) land that our engineers are telling me that we don't need to complete a stormwater treatment project.  I take offense when the City Manager fibs to the City Council when he told them that our engineers said that we had to purchase the land or we would lose the $1 million grant that Bob Gamble and I obtained for the City to construct this project.  The City Manager and I were on the same conference call to the engineers, and the City Manager knows that is not what we were told.

Why the City Manager chose to bend the truth is between him and his conscience.

If the taxpayers are going to get clipped for an additional $100,000, that's between me and the City Manager.

If I spent an additional 10 minutes making my point, well, I'm sorry for your personal inconvenience. You are welcome to vote against me if you want.  In the meantime, the extra time I spent lecturing government bureaucrats on the value of taxpayer money is worth $10,000 per minute to you and to the other taxpayers of our City.

Again, my apologies, Scotty.

I am A person who lived in green cove all of my life and was involved on several boards. I still own property(s) in Green Cove Springs. I now work for Walt Disney Entertainment. Working for them for the last year has confirmed a rumor that I heard as a child and has always made me wonder. Yes, it is true that Walt Disney Chose the border of Clay and Putnum counties as his first choice for, what we now know as, Walt Disney World. Let me be perfectly Clear, I am not tell GCS city council that I endorse them buying just any property for frivolous amounts of money and now reason. However, you ( or we) as the citizens of GCS elected these people and we need trust in there values. If we had elected the right Candidates in 1950s, GCS Might have been just as popular as Orlando. So, in conclusion, Think before you speak and know that Green Cove very much be another St. Augustine or Winter park or Kissimmee or Greenwich Village. You elected them and you knew exactly who they were before you elected them. Trust me, When someone runs in Green Cove, Everyone know what side of the fence they are on and which they will vote on certain issue. Trust you city council or do somethings about it. Speak out IN PUBLIC or just deal with what you allowed to happen.

To Mr. Kelter and the rest of the board:

You are elected to Make rules and govern the laws of GCS. Do what you must and remember who serve. Its very hard to please many people, So focus on the good of the majority of GCS and I believe that's what you are doing.
