Catching Up
Hello All. It’s been awhile. I note that a couple of my buddies here wondered at my prolonged absence. Bax asked if anything was wrong and yes, unfortunately, there is,. Two weeks ago I received word that my father has been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer which has metastasized to brain tumors. Currently he is getting radiation treatments and perhaps following up with chemotherapy. As you might well understand, very little has risen to that degree of importance in my life. Now that things are settling down, I feel a bit more comfortable in rejoining our group. I am also amused by some changes. RichK defending churches? What next? Cats sleeping with dogs? OH!!! The Humanity!!!. :>) I also received a touching personal e-mail from Lisa Butafuoco regarding the travesty that is the Elmer Polite case. It doesn’t surprise me he has yet to pay his fine and bellyaches about it at all. He is not a very decent human being. I am really happy to see the outpouring of support on the MCS blog generating over 30 responses. Lisa deserves our support as she certainly never got any from the police investigators, the court system or the newspaper. I can’t understand the Eloi like response to this tragedy on the part of this newspaper in view of the fact they lost a cherished staffer and her unborn child in similar circumstances. If I had any say in running a news organization I would be shouting it on a daily basis. There is absolutely no accountability anywhere any more it seems to me. Why a simple shrug of the shoulder and moving on without a backward glance is beyond my understanding but then I am an extremely vengeful human being. It’s the Italian blood I suppose. On yet another note, I have been following the discussions here and I see that the Borat Brigade featuring the largely incoherent SPOT continues to blather. As someone who has taken several slings and arrows regarding animal rights I have to tell you people that the manner in which you try to rally support for your cause is all wrong. There are many here who love animals and some on the other side who only see Korean cuisine. You are never going to impress anyone with poor language skills. Here’s a hint. The language is English. Buy a book. Read it. Learn it. Love it. You are also not going to gain support of anyone with the crass dialogue you have entered into with members of this blog, some who have bent over backwards to give you the benefit of the doubt. I am a HUGE animal lover as many can attest and even I am thoroughly disgusted with your tactics. Stop with the multiple identities and act honestly. At the very least borrow some Xanax. There are solutions to all problems. Name calling and poor communication skills won’t cut it. And to Jonathan, thank you for removing that trash. What a waste of the Ethernet. Let’s see, have I offended enough people yet? Let me know. It’s good to be back. They're howling up at the moon and moaning under the stars Related: lilyslore's blog | login or register to post comments | printer friendly version | Tags: ANIMALS | blogging | deaths at the Shands | polite

Lily, Welcome back. I'm sorry to hear @ your father. That is never good news. I hope that he finds a healing power & process. All too often, with news like this, the thoughts go out to the inflicted & the family members are a bit forgotten. I think I speak for all of your fellow bloggers when I say that I hope that you are doing well & keeping a good thought. Yes, we've had a lot going on in the blogohood. I hope that your comments @ language skills are taken to heart & in good spirit. Yes, I did actually defend some churches. In my opinion they were done wrong, plain & simple. I only hope that CCC & Smuncey still have their health after reading my opinion. I imagine that you have a lot of catching up to do, so I won't take up any more of your time. Just wanted to let you know that you were missed, as you could tell. Take care & if you need it, go ahead. Take an aspirin, maybe a good belt of your favorite adult beverage, maybe a bubble bath. You've got that on orders from Dr. Rich. JATFUR. RichK

Tahnk you all for the kind thoughts. It has really been a tough one to deal with but we are all coping well. My father has a rather "indomitable" spirit in that nothing ever gets the best of his "unique" sense of humor. He has a much more positive approach than I think I would but maybe this is just one more lesson he is giving me in life. Rich also has practical suggestions which I intend to follow. Thanks Doc! I suppose I am recharged. I am hoping Lisa is able to put together a memorial for her babies. It would be nice to have a crowd and some coverage of the event. Hope your batteries are recharged with the thought of being able to strike a strong blow for justice in conjunction with Mrs. Butofuoco.
