Watch Golf or Play Golf?

Being that we all live in North Florida I wonder, do people rather play golf or watch golf on TV. Being a golf instructor you would think I'd much rather play golf than watch on TV. For the most part I would rather play golf except when Tiger Woods is playing!

This week Tiger Woods will be playing in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.  Tiger has played in two events on the PGA Tour this year and has won both, he is the leader of the FedEx Cup and if that wasn't enough he is the best player to EVER play the game!

We are watching history and as a golf nut I would much rather watch Tiger play golf than play golf myself!  So I pose the question to you:

Would you rather play golf or watch golf on TV?

Do both! If you play early and don't think you're playing the US Open you can get done in 3:00 to 3:30. That way you can play 18 in the morning and watch in the afternoon or even in the morning if you live close to the course.

My wife and I go out around 0730 to 0800 (we'd go earlier if they would let us) and play in 2:45 to 3:00 (walking and we're both over 60) so we have plenty of time to get home to see the whole broadcast.

I just can't understand these young kids that have to ride and take 5 hours to play. If you can't walk (or ride) a course and play in less than 4:30 you need to take up a new sport. I mean it isn't like they are going to get on the tour or even the tour bus.

I live on a course and watch these guys look at a putt from all 4 sides, plumb bob it and then look from two sides again. After all that they'll stand over the putt and do 6 practice swings shuffle their feet 4 times and finally after 3 minutes they miss the putt.

Heck, I can do that in 20 seconds, take my 2 putt, be real happy about and go to the next hole. It isn't how long you look.

I doubt even Tiger takes more than 4 hours when he isn't playing in a tournament.

I'm not a golfer myself, but I love watching Tiger!   Years and years ago, I met Arnold; back when he and I were much younger and the annual game was played at Deerwood.  Cool  When living in PVB, across from the course, I watched each year for free, and not having to find parking, mess with the crowds it was great!  So, the answer of course for me, I love to watch!

Thank you for reading and that is awesome you got to met Arnold Palmer.  He changed the game back then like Tiger is changing the game today!  Tiger is so much fun to watch I can't wait until tomorrow for the first round of the Bay Hill Tournament!

Thanks again for reading and have a great night!

 Mike,

Thanks for reading...I agree with you why does it take so long for these people to play golf.  I am a super fast player maybe too fast!

Recently Tiger talked about the pace of play on Tour and even he is complaining about the pace of play.  I watched JB Holmes in the Match Play against Tiger and JB took forever to hit a golf shot.  His pre-shot routine was awfully long, I found myself screaming at the TV...HIT THE SHOT ALREADY!  The Pace of play is bad on Tour and at area golf courses.
