Ethanol Gas
I just got back from an Orlando vacation. The whole county is now serving 10% or less ethanol gasoline. The following was taken from an article in the Orlando Sentinel, May 7 2008. Business section by Beth Kassab You cannot use this gasoline in boats because it causes the glue in the fiberglass to melt and the fuel filters will clog up with fiberglass. It cannot be used in old collector cars. It cannot be used in off-road vehicles It cannot be used in motorcycles. It cannot be used in small engines like lawnmower engines, gas powered weed wackers. Some manufactures warranty are voided it you use it. The reason is the gas runs hotter. Attract moisture, damage carburetors and other components if left in the tank during storage. Think emergency generators. The only place she found to get non ethanol gas was a station in Mt. Dora and they said that they did no know how much longer they can get it. In my opinion this gas will wear out your engine faster no matter if it is aluminum or cast iron. We are going to have to change our boat gas tanks to aluminum. We are using up the corn that should be going to the food chain for our meat animals, and my favorite corn on the cob. This raises prices on all parts of the food chain. I think back to the freon 12 debate. After going from $3.00 a lb to $60.00 they found out years later that it really did not add that much to the ozone layer. Now my question is, can we get the elected officals to rethink this madness before the end of 2010 when all of Florida has to be on the ethanol boondoggle. This blend has not been researched enough. This is another of the oh oh oh we need to go green now, no matter what it hurts. ww Related: whitewolf's blog | login or register to post comments | printer friendly version | Tags: Your gasoline engines

Moisture from hydrogen is not a problem. We use water and energy to make hydrogen and get the water and energy back when we burn the hydrogen. The water evaporating from the ocean puts very very much more water in the air than hydrogen engines. That is where the water comes from that makes rain storms.

This is another prime example of how our educated ones think, Instead of pausing, setting down and giving all aspects of the problem consideration, and then taking action on it, they react to it on a few peoples advice, and don’t research it any further. I’m afraid you will be seeing the same thing with the hydrogen cars they are talking about. I have heard many, even the president say, “Hydrogen cars are the way to go, they don’t pollute the air the only thing that comes out of the tail pipe is harmless water”. Another reaction to a problem with out adequate thought in the process, of how hydrogen cars could affect our environment.
I only have a high school education, and I have one huge question for the educated ones. What are you going to do with the adverse affects on our atmosphere that pumping all the moisture into the air will cause?? I mean think about it; how humid is it in Florida around August? Now just think what is going to happen with all the extra humidity we create by the use of Hydrogen cars. If you think we have bad storms now, just wait and see how bad they get then. It’s Just another reaction to a problem with out the proper thought process going into it. This happens all the time in many aspects of our society. They use a band-aide to stop the flow of a ruptured artery, with out giving thought to the end results of their actions. It’s the same thing with ethanol mixed gas it’s going to create more problems than it solves.
