Scroll down to statements and you will find the letter Harry and Rick wrote about this screwed up deal.I think the SAO gave a disposition of the case Rick did not agree with and HE wrote the first press release. Especially check out Harry's reference to a possible grand jury investigation if needed.Today Rick said in the paper that Harry could have just called him on the phone, but these statements may indicate that Rick only believes in written complaints not discussion. You're Welcome! What I found to be significant was the Sheriff was very quick to craft a letter to release to the press. This was in my opinion to chastise the State Attorney to deflect criticism from him. He had no problem submitting his letter to the press. Yet he felt Shorstein should have called him instead of submitting his letter in response. I guess Shorstein called the Sheriff's bluff and said if he wasn't happy with his decision he would convene a Clay County Grand Jury to review the facts. Well has anyone seen the Sheriff request a grand jury? Me either! The Sheriff has folded!
