Back to the SIGN issue

As I read previous blogs, I notice an acceptance at the end of each one of them. “There just political signs”, “It’s always been that way”, “ The County doesn’t have the money to stop it”. Well, I’m here to tell you that this is our community and we certainly don’t need to pay a County worker to clean up my neighborhoods. The County Commissioner has stated they will not write tickets unless a call is made complaining about an ordnance violation. The number is (904)269-6310 call and complain. The ordnance says it a fineable offense for each illegal sign. Start the fines and the word will get around. With the newly generated income from the fines, the County can hire more employs for their overworked staff.

One blogger noticed relatively speaking Fleming Island doesn’t have a lot of signs lying around. Thank you! That’s because in addition to the paid workers pulling them, I go out of my way to remove as many as I can.  Know the laws! The political signs are next! How can someone seeking an office as “clerk of courts” allow supporters to place signs in areas that are illegal. The law is clear. No political signs on public property. CR 220 and Hwy 17 intersection is a joke and needs to be fixed. Give the county a hand and remove them. I know there are a lot of creative people out there; you can make birdhouses or something out of the material.

What’s it going to take?  A motorcycle trying to stop at an intersection and slipping on one of the hundreds of signs currently illegally placed that blew over in the high winds.

Oh! That already happened!

Take 20 seconds pull over and help keep clay beautiful. If people see that illegal signs are not welcome in Clay they will stop wasting their money

I commend you for your hobby.  It is the law and the law should be followed.  The county should enforce such unless otherwise directed by the populus.  However, it is not on my big to do list, that is to stop and take down signs all over Clay County.  Call me arrogant if you'd like or call it a lack of concern, but i'll let this be your pet peeve and call it a day.  Now if the law or ordinance rather, is broken and a blog is started in reference to such, i'll show my public dismay that the ordinance was not followed.  But in the end i guess i just am not willing to take it to the next step in becoming actively involved in taking down illegal signs.

All the environmentalist  can get together and take the signs to the recycle center.

Don't just complain about the environment do your part.

Those who give up freedom for security have neither.

IF you could decrease some of those high paid salaries like B. Boatenwebber at 93,000,00 a year.....Connie Goon at 63,000,00.00 maybe the county can hire more people.......maybe all County EMployees should take a 10 to 20% cut.
