Reduced speed limit in Middleburg

The speed limit was lowered from 55 mph to 45 mph on County Road 215 from Blanding Boulevard in Middleburg to Juniper Avenue, heading toward Camp Blanding.  The change involves about two-thirds of the entire stretch of County Road 215 in that area.

The speed reduction came following a traffic study conducted by Clay County traffic engineers, in response to complaints from residents about speeding. The study indicated an increased number of cars on that roadway and the need for a slower speed limit, which has now been posted.

Deputies working in that area have been issuing written and verbal warnings recently to allow motorists to adjust to the new signs and lower speed limit.  Motorists can now expect that deputies will write speeding tickets for violations in this area.

I sure hope CCSO will be out there in force, to enforce it.  I drive that road all the time, and just this last Tuesday I was passed by two Pettyco tractor trailers that had to of been doing close to 75mph out there, one of them nearly ran me off the road.

They were going soo fast I tried to get in touch with the Highway Patrol when they went out onto SR16 towards Starke, but there is so much BS to go through to get to anyone I finally gave up.
