I was reading past BLOGS and found this one. It is written by a parent of one of the girls that was Victimized. I hope Jusicewisher does not mind me moving it to a new thread. It is hidden in a old thread. I felt that it was very important that it be posted where it could be easily found. I appreciate the parent setting the record straight. Home » blogs » Marsha's blog Don't Bother-The flipped coin will always read "In God We Trust"Submitted by justicewisher I am one of the other parents and I am writing for several reasons. One, to thank those who have been so supportive to these girls. But the the other reason is that there is so much hype being presented as if this whole thing is about an election. The ONLY reason we allowed this story to go public is for assistance in getting Justice. I will not lie to you and tell you I don't care who wins the election. To us if Taylor wins it will give his son continued rights to do whatever he wants to do with no repercussions! I can tell you there is alot more about what Adam Taylor has done than this article reveals. There is alot more that his father has done to protect him. This article concentrated on his sexual rages. To have listed everything would have looked like a witch hunt and would have looked politically motivated. It is hard as a parent to know so much and not have it exposed, but that is the way it works. I'm sorry, but if you have a bad child you need to let them fail and suffer the consequences of their actions. But you see the problem is deeper rooted.............it is a family sentiment that the rules don't apply to them. That is obvious to me in that Taylor put up his signs months before being allowed, breaking county election laws, but who cares right? Oh and he can wear his FDLE investigator badge in public even though he is not with them and that is not considered impersonating a police officer! His kid can get caught with explosives vandalizing a mailbox which is a federal crime and Daddy gets him off. (I was told his response when caught was:"You don't know who I am, my dad is going to be the next sherriff") Mike Taylor makes a single mom sign an agreement that he will not be liable for damages over $2000 and if she pursues legal remedies her son will be charged. That isn't bribery? I hope she sees a lawyer and gets that thrown out! His kid brags about using drugs and steriods, even tries to sell them, and he has no repercussions! Not only is this kid wreckless, but he thinks he is above the law because he is obviously taught that. Has anybody thought that maybe this kid wants to be caught? Maybe he knows he is out of control and is calling out for help? I am a mom so of course I think like that. I believe his actions are that of a serial rapist and basically somebody who has no respect for anyone, and obviously not his father either. I believe his attitude toward women is a learned one from example. I wonder how Mrs. Taylor was treated in that household. I was told she was separated from him until he announced he was running for sherriff. As far as Susan and Beseler working together on this..................that is hogwash!! She told me that he did not want the story to come out because people would blame him and say it is politically motivated. And Susan almost canned the article numerous times due to her concern for the girl's emotional well being. The girls all made the ultimate decision to go public. At first I thought it was just not worth the price they'd pay emotionally, but now I believe it has helped them to feel impowered. They have uncovered a secret that needed to be told. Adam Taylor is now revealed for what he is even if he never goes to trial and that is probably worth it. I hope he takes a close look at what he has done and realizes he needs help. He won't do that though as long as his father is giving him excuses. Oh and by the way........ the FBI was not involved and there were no lie detector tests!!!! That was humorous. As far as Sharman I have alot to say! I know for a fact that one of his witnesses was not interviewed until a month after the others. Her mother refused to cooperate. I know the order of the interviews pretty much, but the thing I don't understand is why he would indicate on his reports that all interviews were conducted within about a week, with Adam Taylor being the last to be interviewed. Jordan, the friend of Taylor's who made the statement about the girls and their tops coming off at the beach didn't come up with that until a month after being interviewed, yet it was in his interview report. If Taylor was interviewed after him wouldn't they have asked him about that? Of course they would but there is no mention of it. That is because the dates are all false. Now why would that happen? All I can figure is that there are alot of old Lancaster supporters and my understanding is that Taylor plans to put Lancaster in as his undersherrif. Well, wouldn't that help to seal the connections between everyone. I am not stating that to be fact, just what I've heard and I would like your comments on. I do know that several witnesses told me that they felt Sharman wanted to let Taylor off. I can also tell you that one of the witnesses that was Adam's friend told me that Adam was the one that came up with the tops off business not him. He told me this after he stopped being friends with him. He also said if he changed his statement he would be in alot of trouble, so I guess that's why he stuck with it . His interview with the last witness was after the meeting with the state attorney's office. That is because I asked him to interview her because she was a key witness. He agreed and interviewed her and I didn't hear from him again. My viewpoint is he never took it back to the state attorney because he made the decision not to prosecute himself. Interestingly the same person who denied prosecution is the same one who found the child abuse case on Mike Taylor unfounded. Tell me how many times is Child Protective Services called in and cancelled by the state attorney's office? I have never heard of once. Maybe I am wrong but I thought if the police request it then an investigation would occur. I was not aware that the state attorney's office had jurisdiction over these things? If someone knows that I'd like to know. Anyway, back to the reports by Sharman - I can tell you that this has kept me up many a night trying to figure out why someone would falsely write reports. Those dates to me are a strong indication of something being terribly wrong. I want more than anything to believe the best in people, but I am struggling with this. As far as those who criticize us for allowing our children's stories made public.........I completely understand. We all struggled with it and wanted the article written differently, but to keep some things out would truly not allow you to see the violent nature of this boy. We want action. We want justice. And more importantly.....we do not want another girl to go through this. Now I want to tell you something else that is not in the article. There is another girl. I met her at Walmart with one of the victims that did cooperate. She was willing to tell her story to the police, but only if her parents did not find out because they were very close friends with the Taylors. I really did alot of soul searching after meeting these two girls. The only reason they wanted to tell was to stop him from doing it to someone else. We had already gotten word our case was closed and to put these girls through what we went through was tough. I knew that their parents would find out and I wondered how they'd deal with that. I contacted Kenneth Wagner of Internal Affairs and told him I didn't know what to do. He knew my concerns of my child's case. He spoke to Beseler and I was told they were going to turn it over to FDLE. It was ultimately the best decision. And to the one who wrote about Taylor's connection with FDLE, they did not know him, or know of him. I feel they did an outstanding job and they felt confident going to the State Attorney. The lead investigator did not agree with the decision not to prosecution. You may wonder what happened to the other victim. Why wasn't she mentioned in the article? Unfortunately FDLE had to contact her parents to get in touch with her and she would not cooperate. She had told me if that happened she would deny everything. My heart breaks for this beautiful child. I know she wanted to tell the police badly because she contacted the other victim and told her she had not been contacted yet and wondered what was taking so long. I feel horrible because I had her phone number and lost it while I was trying to figure how what to do. If she had talked to FDLE her parents would have been notified. I don't want to be responsible for causing emotional damage to any child. Would the outcome have been different? Probably not. Not unless we get a State Attorney with no connections and one that has a heart and soul. Please pray for her. As for those of you who are so intent on blaming us for the release of information, or Beseler think again. There were many chains of command that Susan had to go through to get the report but it was not on the county level. I myself am entitled to it, but have been refused by the lawyer for the county due to Taylor's request. Not only did he request nothing on him be given out, not even incident reports with names redacted, but he requested to be notified of who requests records on him. Gee I didn't know we could do that? Why don't we all call the records department on Monday and ask them if we can be notified if anyone requests records on us? As you all can see clearly from the Florida Statutes, I am entitled to the records. You have to forgive typos and misspellings. I am tired and my eyes are weary after reading all of your comments. Some of them I just had to comment on. Plus I just had to add in a few of my thoughts. For those who keep looking at all three sides to the coin, I will say that no matter how you flip that coin it will always read, "In God We Trust" and that right now is what we as parents are living with - trust that justice will be done. I am so sorry for what has happened to your daughter. And for the other girls involved. I have a daughter myself she is much younger but I still think about what if it was her. Law enforcement is supposed to be here to help. When we cant count on them who can we count on? I will continue to pray for your family and hope that god speeds healing and strength to your precious daughter.I also wish for justice for her and the other victims. I personally as the mother of a young girl thank you and your families for the courage you have shown in exposing this crime of violence and devastation. Dont quit. dont give up. God will see you through. People are talking about ...Here are the recent blog postings with the most comments. |
