A Select Few

Obviously from what I've been reading of several blogs the last few days, free speech <ahem> is only for the select few that feel they are in control of these blogs.  Perhaps it is because you feel you are more intellectual than the rest of us?  Superior ?  Certainly not kinder.  The last time I looked around, everyone was entitled to free speech AND to their opinion.  Granted, there are some that tend to go over the top, as it were.  Why not just scroll past?  Is it some sadistic curiosity?  Is someone holding you down and making you read these blogs?  I tend to doubt that.  I thought when I joined this blog I would have something in common with everyone.  Clay County. Silly me.  This should be called the Clay County Clique.  No one need apply.  We will let you in, even welcome you, but then we will get rid of you one by one.

not the nasty, snide remarks, the tit for tat, not the mind numbing calling of names.

"WE" are tired of my guy is better than your guy because your guy is stupid.

"WE" try to put on to the blogs info, and opinions that might make someone's day a little easier.

"WE" are disgusted by the pure hateful, remarks made toward or about someone

I am almost ready to just quit reading any blogs, just go off into the web and find a new avenue for my info seeking.

"WE" have all pretty much be taken to task by someone, I guess the latest person to put "US" in our place is you.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Very interesting observation Amie.

I too have made the same observations.

Freedom of speech to some here beleive it means they get to say whatever they wish using whatever adjectives or name calling they wish without accountability. When they get ticked off on a subject they are passionate about the gloves come off and everything is fair game. Even bathroom type remarks become acceptable. It all depends on who you are as to whether or not you get condemned.

But Amie if it were you that was passionate about a topic and decided the time had come to take the gloves off, and those same people opposed or disliked you, you would be condemned.

They would climb high on that stallion and express how appalled they are concerning your remarks and in the same breath use the very same tactics against you that they are condemning you for in the first place.

Everyone is passionate about something. Debates can get hairy and tempers can flare. But freedom of speech must never be hindered.

If you don't like what a certain blogger writes, stop reading their posts. It's as simple as that.

For me personally When I am speaking with an idiot, I have no problem reminding them they are an idiot. The same people that would condemn me for this tactic would do the very same thing if the correct buttons were pushed. I have no doubt in this regard because I personally have pushed buttons to test those waters and found this to be true.

I am sure there will be some negative feed back on my remarks but that is OK. I dance to the beat of my own drum.

If you don't like what I write don't read it, and don't bother responding to it, it's that easy.

"You know what any thread concerning CCAC is going to turn in to because of 3 haters, and my continued defense for those folks will not stop.

"Knowing this, and if strongly opposed, you simply don't go there."

That pretty sums up my personal complaint, Arnie. Folks can't discuss any real issues about Clay County Animal Control because they "know what any thread about CCAC is going to turn in to (sic)."

The freedom to speak, write about or discuss one specific topic is being hindered, but not by a select few or clique who feel they own the blogs.  It's hindered by the select few telling us not to go there because they plan to turn the Internet discussion into a series of traded personal insults that have nothing at all to do with the subject the rest of us would like to discuss.

I have a tiny bit of info that someone is going to be looking into this situation.  Not sure who called but Code Enforcement has got their eyes on this particular residence. Ten people, yes, 10 in a 900 ft sq residence.  There's one sex offender that lives around the corner from me, no one told me about him, I had to look it up on the internet to find out.  Doesn't really bother me as long as he stays over there and doesn't do anything strange.

A*M*I*E*  My name is A M I E, it's hard to see when it's in lower case letters - Amie, looks like Arnie  Since I'm a girl, well ok a woman, I don't like to be called Arnie.  Kiss

Apologies, Amie, for misreading your name (it even looks like "Arnie" right here as I've typed "Amie") and thanks for the correction, read44.

Even bathroom type remarks become acceptable.

I have to say u have that market cornered. Not to be too critical but some of the stuff you have posted was downright disgusting. Even my wife left the room after reading  some things you wrote aboutt someone here. And she's a tough broad.

I personally have pushed buttons to test those waters and found this to be true.

I don't think that was a test, just an angry woman mouthing off. It was not a decent thing todo.

Anyway, it's neither there nor here because life move's on. Nobody is ever "gotten rid of" they just run out of venom. I only hope some run out of screen names.
