OK kids, we need something a little lighter to balance comments on torture, putting leashes on cats, (why not unruly kids?) not to mention dis, dat & de udder tings. Came across this on about.com.geography today. Now some of you might want to sit down, perhaps with a favorite adult beverage, do some deep breathing or whatever blows up your shorts & makes you grin. A conference called, "Mecca, the Center of the Earth, Theory & Practice," was held in Quatar. Muslim religious & scientific leaders called upon the world to change Coordinated Universal Time from Greenwich, UK to that of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The delegates agreed (That's mighty generous of them) that Mecca is the "true" center of the earth. CLAST Exam: A Waste of Time
I found out back towards the end of December that I had to take the math portion CLAST Exam in order to obtain my diploma for my AA degree. I was fine with that at first and it was just a minor inconvenience, that is, until I actually did some research on this pointless exam. Upon finding out that one has to pass this thing to graduate I became increasingly angry. There I was, happy that i was finally going to get my AA after all the garbage I had to put up with from the school. I literally felt like a door had been slammed in my face after discovering this most unpleasant news. I've done my time and gotten all my credits out of the way and that should be enough. I don’t care what color your skin is. I don’t care where you come from! But, I do care how one acts and approaches life. The one thing that we all are is Americans. Everyone in this country of ours has one thing in common that can’t be changed. We all have 24hr in a day. What makes people different is how they use there time. Many, but not all Black Americans spend much of there time whining and crying about how repressed they are. |
