The Law Of Contrary Investing

My opinion, shared by the seasoned:  The law of contrary investing is, in essence, when everybody is running one way, you should be going the other way.  Definitely don't become part of the panic crowd.  Slowly, carefully, and above all, steadily acquire that which is available at a bargain price.  Think about it.

Activist vs. Lobbyist, an ethical and moral discussion

Bloggers,

It was suggested by blogger OneMann that I separate this entry from another blog thread. I agree. It's probably a purer use of a blog than where it started.

This blog is not about specific people. Please do not mention any names associated with any side of the debate.

It's not a "trick" question per se...More of a moral and ethical discussion on value systems.

The premise was:

Let's say, you are not paid (as lobbyists are). Let's say you know your stuff and talk to your representatives at many levels, often presenting the other side of the coin in a convincing fashion. Is it more honorable to be an activist and be unpaid or a lobbyist and be paid for services rendered?
