Candidates

Video interviews, Clay County candidates

All-

We are almost finished with our round of Clay County candidate video interviews, and many of them are now available on MyClaySun.com/video

In case you can't find a particular candidate there, all videos are also on Jacksonville.Activote.com

For a bit of background, we invited all candidates who are running opposed in the primary elections on Aug. 26th to the Times-Union for video interviews. We (well, I) asked each candidate three questions - all candidates in the same race received the same questions and there were no time limits for their responses.

Candidate Surveys

Just found the candidates surveys online at http://americanfamilyforum.org scroll down, click on Online Voter Guide, then on the candidate's name.

It is most interesting to see how candidates stand on issues.  I recommend voters review these surveys before voting.  Thanks American Family Forum for making them available online.

Who Do You Trust?

On another thread I mused about who might be better candidates to lead our nation through the next four years. This is an exercise just for fun. Nobody will be considered right or wrong. I would solicit thoughtful responses although a really excellent humorous response will be appreciated.  Best of all, this thread should not engender spiteful and petty smears of anyone's character for a change.

So, if neither John McCain nor Barack Obama lights your fire, Jim, who would any of you nominate for the preidency? They don't have to be career politicians (and frankkly, that would be an improvement from my jaded perspective) but be prepared to bolster your pick with sound (or at least comical) reasoning.

Duke's BBQ Today

I just picked up a flyer today at a store and I see the address is 3860 Doctors Lake.   I just wanted new to share that since I had not seen the location posted on the blogs.

I will now go back to lurking

FRANK FARRELL FOR CLAY COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, DISTRICT 4

Just received notification of his website, www.farrell08.com.  Not many professionals with his qualifications are willing to run for public office.  We wish him a successful campaign.

Rubber Meets the road..

Congrats to OneMann, I see where the rubber met the road. It's one thing to say you're going to file and another to actually file. A lot can happen between Point A and B. The Supervisor of Election has posted your candidacy (District 3) and Tom Platt's candidacy for District 1 on its web site.

Is it a coincidence both of you filed on the same day? Do you have plans to run on similar platforms?
