sheriff's officeI am so tired of Rick Beseler Ya'll
It is common knowledge in Jacksonville that Rick Beseler has always had an obsession with the media getting his name in the newspaper and his picture on tv. It just makes me sick! As I have started reading the blogs, I see the same old Rick. He could not take criticism, but boy could he dish it out. Staff Motto was always "Big Cases - Big Problems, Small Cases - Small Problems, No Cases - No Problems". Some Crime Fighter. And with the latest personal political attacks, I can't help but remember all of the stories that have floated around the office since the last election in Clay county. Stories of a SAO Chief Investigator that was called to the State Attorney's Office and held there standing at attention taking a tongue lashing for leaking information to a reporter for political gain and given the option of resignation or being fired. I have often wondered how you could work for someone for so many years and think they are just fine so long as you are still getting a pay check, but turn on them after you leave the office, or made to resign, whatever. TALK ABOUT A SMOKE SCREEN
Mr. Taylor, I did not intend to get involved in the issue with your son because I do not believe candidate’s children should be brought into a political race. Although I do have questions about your son’s innocence, I was going to stay out of it. Until that is, I read this preposterous and slanderous email. It is easy to follow along; my statements are in bold and slightly larger print than your rant. Debate Tonight!!!
I don’t know if there has been a blog posted on the subject, but there is a debate/forum tonight that will involve all the candidates running for offices in Clay County. It will happen at 6pm at Ridgeview High School and is scheduled to run until 9pm. I think this will be a good opportunity for everyone to hear the issues from the candidates themselves, and not listen to what other people have to say. A lot of us have presented very compelling arguments about certain candidates, but I don’t think voters should make their decisions based upon what happens on MCS. Just In: Orange Park bank robber sought
Clay County police are on the lookout for a man who robbed the Bank of America branch at 29 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park around noon today. The man was white, in his 40s, about 200 pounds, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9, with brown hair and mustache. He was wearing glasses with black frames, said a Clay County Sheriff’s Office statement. The man presented a bank teller a note indicating he wanted money and had a gun, but no gun was displayed or seen, the statement said. The teller gave him and money and he fled. Sheppard's Letter
Why was Bill Sheppard's letter removed from the this cite? Murder Charges Dropped
Can anyone shed light on the rumor that murder charges against the man in Grove Park have been dropped? Improper investigation is reportedly the cause.
Unethical?
this was recently posted on MCS.... By CCSOInfo Periodically, members of the Clay County Sheriff's Office will provide information via the My Clay Sun blog in response to blogs related to the Sheriff's Office, public safety and crime in our area. Our goal is to provide information to readers that corrects inaccuracies or expands further on posted information that is helpful to the community. To that end, please note the following in response to a blog posted this afternoon that stated a person died from being tased by a deputy this weekend. There was no such incident. The last CCSO taser-related incident that involved the death of a suspect was on 9-30-06 in the South Hampton neighborhood. Sheriff Rick Beesler leads the State!
Sheriff Rick Beseler leads the state in at least one thing! Rick Beseler leads the state in the number of personal friends he has employed who are taking advantage of a loop hole in the law which allows double dipping in public funds. Rick Beseler has 6 employees including himself who are collecting a full retirement check from the state of Florida and collecting a second full time employment check. Sen. Mike Fasano, R-Port Richey said, "This is absolutely not what the Legislature intended. "It's so sad when you have elected officials who want to take advantage of this." Magical Million Dollar Refund?
Rick Beseler refunded a million dollars to the county stating that it was his sound fiscal policies, changing the prescription methods for inmates in the jail (a savings of $600K), no natural disasters and lower than expected fuel costs. I would really like to know several things. Number 1, the jail prescription method was changed a couple years ago. But, they have switched back. So is the savings he is referring to from last year and now we are paying $600K more? Or, did his switch back to the previous provider result in a $600K a year savings, which would mean we overpaid as taxpayers due to his mistake for switching in the first place? Number 2, Refunds from not experiencing natural disasters do not impress me. That money should not be spend anyway. It should go back to the county. Number 3, lower than expected fuel costs? Okay, I got it. But, where is the magical feat here that shows me Sheriff Beseler has done a good job.
