Sheriff Rick Beseler

Lake bed patrols

I read that the lake area residents of Keystone Hgts. are continuing to have problems with people destroying the lake beds. The Sheriff's answer to the problem was to advertise for deputies to work OVERTIME to try and catch the perps. No one volunteered, and no one had the intestinal fortitude to have someone do the duty so here is what was done. The crackerjack robbery/homicide unit was utilized to try and catch the desperados. Now remember we have how many unsolved robberies and how many unsolved or ineptly handled homicides) to date. Can someone furnish the answer? Anyhow, instead of these specialized investigators and supervisors working on the very cases the unit was created to work (nicknamed the untouchables) they are instead being used for covert operations for lake bed perp.

Uncaring Sheriff

Recently, Sheriff Beseler once again took a core value for the CCSO to another level.  Caring.  Over the past four years the employees have seen this core value die a slow death.  However, recently he managed to beat it up one more time.  A ranking employee's mother passed away, which is a tragedy for anyone to have to contend with.  However, this ranking member supports his boss, both with campaign contributions and time, and the Sheriff can't even come to the funeral of this man's mother.  What a disgrace!  He should be ashamed to darken the door of 901 N. Orange Ave.  We are not talking about a 3 month employee here.  This man has over 20 years with the agency.  Unlike the Sheriff, at one time he worked a beat, worked his way up the chain, and is supporting a man that won't even come pay respects when his mother dies. Once again Beseler shows his true colors.

Bad Sheriff

Like never before the people of Clay County need to understand that a man that has no business being a Sheriff is one.  Rick Beseler in only one term has run a great sheriff's office into the ground. There are so many things that this man has done to ruin a great place to work it can't be done in just one entry.  One of the core values is "caring".  He has taken it to a whole new level in the direction of "not caring".  He doesn't care that we are losing employee's like never before, violent crime is through the roof, moral can't get much lower, and

Tricky Ricky and Endorsements

The reason it wasn't okay for the F.O.P. to make an endorsement this early was because he KNEW it would not be Rick being endorsed.By the way, back in early 2004 wasn't there a photo and big story in the Times Union or Clay Today of Rick accepting an endorsement and check from the Clay County Firefighter's Union when he was running for Sheriff. He had promised them that he world GIVE them a million dollars out of is excess budget so they could get some raises.

Sheriff Rick Beseler refuses to accept Binding Arbitration

Okay, Sheriff Rick Beseler thinks it politically incorrect to agree to binding arbitration.  Obviously it is not legally incorrect because there are several agencies that already do have binding arbitration.  One need look no further than Duval County to find the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office enjoys this valuable protection.

Police officers and Deputy Sheriffs are not looking to protect dirty or lazy cops.  Police Officers and Deputy Sheriffs are seeking guarantees that they won't be fired arbitrarily due to a bad Sheriff or Police Chief who wasn't there when the Officer/Deputy started their career and who may not be there when the Officer/Deputy retires from their career.
