CCACthe 'horse's mouth' needs a muzzle
In response to the ignorant post which described the information revolving around only the most current case of reckless and unfounded animal cruelty charges involving horses in clay county, as ‘straight from the horse’s mouth’, I have this to say: When has it ever been the opinion of, or in the best interest of the people, to take the word of the criminal over the voice of the victim? Seems pretty clear to me !!
Does anybody in Green Cove Springs ( i.e. Clay County government) really care what goes on at CCAC ? It seems to me that it is the old "out of sight...out if mind" ,plain and simple. As long as Bodenweber and his boss don't have to deal with it , it's OK.The problem wtih this behavior is that if it were a private enterprise ,supervisors would be responsible for the actions of people working under them.Evidently , the county manager doesn't feel any need to address all of the negative things that go on at CCAC.,maybe if everybody will just be quiet..the public will forget about it.and everything will remain "'out of sight and out of mind"
Conclusion
In my opinion the mentality is to ignore the problem because a minority of citizens are law-abiding pet owners! I ask any one of you to drive the posted speed limit on Blanding Blvd, starting from Wells Road going south all the way (all 35 or so miles) to State Road 100 in Keystone Heights. Bring a passenger with you and count how many vehicles pass by you driving faster than the posted speed limit. Maybe two passengers one to count one to note the approximate ages of the drivers. After you tally up the totals then ask why even have a posted speed limit? Most of these people are law abiding citizens, but they can't stand to follow the posted speed limit. Some will drive their whole lives without ever getting a speeding ticket. Some will get one ticket and purchase a radar detector that guarantees it's effectiveness and will even refund the cost of a ticket. Some will get more speeding tickets. There is no way any law enforcement agency can possibly ticket every offender (except for Waldo and Lawty), but law enforcement does not ignore speeders. Jonathan: Help!
Hey, Jonathan. I hate to bother you with this on the weekend, but I have a question. Is there any way for someone to block the participation of specific other bloggers? For example, I'd like to discuss some real issues at Clay County Animal Control without having it be treated like a fire hydrant in a dog park by people who stray from the issue and do nothing more than launch personal insults at each other. I really don't care if Don et al and TruthHurts want to accuse each other of moral terpitude in its various forms. Could not possibly care any less about who has a fat behind or who drinks Vodka on Friday night, whether they are idiots or have a Mensa-level IQ. I'll defend their rights to say and write what they want to, no matter how idiotic or childish or hypocritical it makes them look, but I don't want them to it in a blog I create.
Numbers
Today I overheard some numbers that made me shake my head in disbelief. Last month (July) CCAC took in 880 animals and only 46 dogs were reclaimed by their owners! No cats were reclaimed! Pitiful...Disturbing...Sorry...are few words that come to me. I'm sure that the costs to house, clean, feed, provide necessary veterinarian care (and euthanize) to these 880 animals were much greater than the reclaim fees collected. There is a way to offset this deficit. Mandatory micro-chipping and license of all animals including pleasure livestock.
And the beating goes on
Looks like he's back. How convenient. Cookiecutter is new and posts 3 blogs and a comment in just over 30 minutes after 11 PM. cookiecutter with the same poor spelling and English as spot/don/retiredfarmer/michaelmore and a couple others I can't remember. And a picture of someone of the female persuasion. I'm hoping that isn't a picture of him in 'drag'. That is an image I could live without. cookiecutter if I'm wrong about your identity I will apologize but I don't think there is much chance that I'll have to do that. If I do, you might be glad to know you have an intellectual twin on the blog site.

ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE
If anyone reading this is really interested in just one hurdle that CCAC (and other's) face please go to the following sites: http://www.spayflorida.org/ and http://www.spayusa.org/main_directory/02-facts_and_education/literature.asp Please go to the "how quickly dogs and cats multiply pyramid" and realize that here in Florida cats can(and do) have three breeding cycles in one year. It may make just one of you to think twice about feeding that "poor, hungry cat" without having it spayed or neutered. After my visit to MCS
Hello to all. My name is Lisa Henderson, owner of Lisa's Feed & Pet Depot in Middleburg. After my visit to the office of My Clay Sun, I have decided it is in the best interest for myself and my business to respond to a blog dated 2/14/08 at 9:59 p.m. titled "T-Shirts and More". 1 - I adopted 20 animals from Clay County Animal Control on 10/9/07. The animals were delivered to me in a CCAC vehicle and were signed over to me by CCAC. The fowl were NOT given to me by Deputy Henderson. Please see attached for documentation. 2 - The horse I bought at public auction and paid $900 for was NOT the horse referenced in case # 10-2007-MM-003180-XXAX-MX file date 10/18/07. The Pubilc Auction was held at Clay County Animal Control, by Elrod Auctions. I purchased 2 horses from the auction, one for $200 and one for $900. For the record, the horse that I purchased for $900 was the highest selling horse ever at a Clay County Animal Control auction. Please see attached invoice for the public auction date of 5/24/07 for documentation.
Please Help MEEEEEEE!
PLEASE PLEASE someone help me! I'm drowning in CCAC dog doo doo! It's everywhere I turn! The server just can't hold any more of this stuff! If any more of it shows up I'm afraid the bits and bytes are going to overflow into the streets. We'll all be covered in it. We'll have to call out HAZMAT! The county will smell for at least 10 years. It'll take millions to clean up. Please guys if you all would update your profiles and accept contacts, you could take this 'off line' to email. Then the rest of us could go back to being the uninformed masses that we used to be before this world shattering subject took to the internet. |
